Designer Denim Stationery

Recently, I overheard the news state that the average woman has 15 pairs of jeans in her closet. For curiosities sake I perused my own wardrobe and counted 23. Really...23? This number was a bit shocking to me because 1. Five out of seven days a week I opt to trot around town in yoga pants and 2. I technically only wear six pairs. So why do I hold on to the rest? Well, because collectively they're worth roughly four round trip tickets to europe and some I have high hopes of fitting into again should I ever fall victim to a bout of food poisoning. If you're like me and want an alternative to making a trip to the Good Will to recycle your denim graveyard - get out your scissors, it's time to make some stationery!

It's easy, all you need is card stock, glue dots (double sided adhesive doesn't adhere well to denim), Tacky Glue on anything you wish to use on top for decoration and a X-ACTO gripster to give a worn effect.

I love putting my name on things. Anything. From doodling my initials on a napkin to making place cards for a measly four person dinner party - I never miss an opportunity to personalize.

Thankfully, my career is tailor made for me as I get to be in touch with people who share the same affinity.

So far, 2013 has started off splendidly. This is in no small part due to the wonderful/relaxing/super fun european vacation my family took over the holidays. Here are a few of my favorite moments...

The Christmas street markets in Bavaria are adorable - here's me and T having some spiced eggnog. Yes, that's right, no to-go cups! For a germaphobe such as myself, it's a hard concept to subscribe to. However, sometimes in order to have fun, you have to drink out of a used cup that has a 50/50 chance of being washed properly.

Germany get's the award for having the most unique souvenir shops! It's a raccoon - it's a bird - it's a deer - it's a groundhog - it's 4 presents in 1!

Stepping up in the City

One of my favorite things about living in Los Angeles is that no matter what day of the week it is, there's always a fun event to go to. Last Wednesday was no different when I attended Step Up Women's Network 15th anniversary gala, Stepping Up in the City.

Step Up Women's Network is a nonprofit membership organization igniting women and girls to fulfill their potential. And they also always host great events.

Not having to buy dinner is an A+ kind of perk. It's also how I justify popping over to Alice + Olivia for a few nonessentials to wear for the evening. The food was LEGIT.

SUITC was held at the ever so beautiful Exchange in downtown LA. Of the 19 photographs I took that night, 11 were of this stunning art deco chandelier hanging in the front staircase...

Halloween seemed to have come and gone very quickly this year - here are some of the crafts/decorations I did with my family!

We made these gravestones from styrofoam, wood, paper and spray paint. It took about 3 hours to make 6 of them, loving how they turned out...

Nooooo don't bring him to the butcher!!! my nephew Vinko is really working his chicken costume. Takes a real man to do that!

Glimmer Glam...the new body paint

Are you looking for a body paint to wear on Halloween that won't rub off on your clothes, smear and has the added bonus of sparking - try Glimmer Glam glitter paint (These statements have not been approved/evaluated by the FDA)!

Now, I've used this lovely product by Tattered Angels many many times, but never on my skin - until now. Loved it.

Drawback is it's about 100x more expensive than regular body paint and you're most definitely going to turn your skin bright red scrubbing it off BUT for the few short hours you get to wear it, it's lovely!
